This is a basic stereo track with no particular bells nor whistles. There is only the one audio track on this DVD, English Dolby Digital 2.0. This disc is Dual Layered, with no apparent layer change during the main programme. Neither MPEG artefacts, nor film-to-video artefacts, nor video artefacts were seen in this exceptionally clear and clean transfer. Fortunately, there is absolutely no colour bleed whatsoever to interfere with the vibrant colour palette on offer. Even BarneyTM's purple was nicely rendered, although he was slightly less detailed than the rest of the image. There is absolutely no low level noise to be seen anywhere in this image.Ĭolours were beautifully rendered, with vibrant primary and secondary colours splashed liberally across the image. Shadow detail is limited simply by the fact that no scenes are poorly lit and hence there is no opportunity for this transfer to exhibit good shadow detail. The quality of the lighting employed on these sets is remarkable, with every detail revealed precisely. The transfer is superbly sharp and detailed, with immense amounts of detail visible at all times. The transfer is presented in an aspect ratio of 1.33:1. Whilst I may not think much of the programme material, I certainly have nothing but praise for this reference quality video transfer. There wouldn't be a Jihad To Destroy Barney if that were the case.ĭon't wish to see plot synopses in the future? Change your configuration. Anyway, enough whinging and on with the review.īarneyTM's Night Before Christmas is set on Christmas Eve. I also ended up reviewing this DVD because way back when the first BarneyTM DVD was released, I reviewed it, for the same reason. I ended up reviewing this DVD because all the other site reviewers were strangely silent when this title came up for allocation. Having said that, I'll try to keep this section of the review as neutral as possible, although I'll probably not be able to help myself, as I am not exactly a BarneyTM lover. I suggest BarneyTM lovers skip over to the Transfer Quality section of this review to read about the reference quality video transfer rather than risk being offended by what I think of BarneyTM. (Remember that I'm not a Mac user so question all that I write.)ģ) Your choice of a 32GB SD card is at the max of what a zumo 350 can handle. What would happen if instead of choosing everything other than Canada and Border states, you instead chose a smaller subset (maybe drop Mexico and the Caribbean)? If MapInstall selected a mapset under 2GB in filesize and it did install to the SD card, then maybe the zumo can't handle 2+GB files.Ģ) When I saw your FAT format statement, I was going to suggest you try FAT32 instead, but I gather that when Macs offer SD card formats, their FAT is actually a FAT32 and if that's right, you should be OK. The 3xx series: ? If the 350 can't handle files over 2GB in size, that may explain why past map updates worked for you since the SD card map file may have been under 2GB up to this map update. Note that the FAQ doesn't say that the 3xx can't read files over 2GB in size (I love double negatives apparently), but it does say that if a zumo 4xx or 5xx has the latest software updates, it can handle files of 2+GB. It is questionable whether the zumo 3xx series can handle files over 2GB in size. While we're waiting for someone with an answer, here are a few thoughts from a non-Mac non-zumo user. And as such, I’ve included their own comments and explanations for why their method is the way it is. The reason I mention this is because when Rosetta Stone sent me their program a while back, I told them they could see the review before it went live. The whole program is done online or in their Rosetta Stone app. As of now, Rosetta Stone has since switched to a subscription-based model. It has been a while since that version, so I have updated this post to reflect the current Rosetta Stone plans and set up. Is Rosetta Stone Good? The Rosetta Stone Philosophy. My Frank Review of Rosetta Stone TOTALe.So let me explain why I don’t think Rosetta Stone is worth it. Rosetta Stone came out as the biggest loser. I actually polled my readers for their favourite and least favourite language courses. In fact, I think you’ll find yourself discouraged if you use this as your first language learning resource. “It’s a one-size-fits-all approach that keeps you stuck at beginner level.” In my opinion, skip this one and find another course for less that will actually teach you to speak the language confidently. Running a blog as big as this means I get asked the following questions often: How good is Rosetta Stone? Is Rosetta Stone worth it? Whether you will learn to decipher your target language will rely on a lot more than this one tool. Almost all language learners have heard of it.īut don’t confuse it with the Rosetta Stone that helped us decipher Egyptian hieroglyphics, which it’s named after. Rosetta Stone is one of the biggest brands in language learning. Rosetta Stone is a one-size-fits-all method that’s tedious to follow, lacks explanations, and never advances beyond the beginner level. In short, I do not recommend Rosetta Stone for new language learners. Never advances past a beginner’s comprehensionĭoes Rosetta Stone work? How effective is Rosetta Stone? Morning traffic commutes on the Golden Gate Bridge, in particular, are down 30%. Though comparable data for the Golden Gate Bridge was not immediately available, a spokesperson for the transportation district that manages the bridge said traffic remains about 20% below pre-pandemic figures. The Richmond-San Rafael Bridge has recovered about 88% of its pre-pandemic traffic levels. Traffic on three bridges - Benicia-Martinez and the South Bay’s Dumbarton and San Mateo-Hayward bridges - sat at 80% of 2019 levels or lower. Three of the Bay Area’s toll bridges - the Bay, Carquinez and Antioch bridges - saw more than 90% of pre-COVID traffic levels passing through toll plazas in July compared with the same month in 2019. More than two years since the start of the pandemic, traffic on the Bay Bridge has nearly rebounded to 2019 levels with slight changes to its busiest days and peak congestion times, according to a Chronicle analysis of traffic data. This article also discusses the intrinsic cardiac nervous system and the heart-brain connection, through which afferent information can influence activity in the subcortical and frontocortical areas, and motor cortex. This article reviews sympathetic and parasympathetic influences on the heart, and examines the interpretation of HRV and the association between reduced HRV, risk of disease and mortality, and the loss of regulatory capacity. The cardiovascular regulation center in the medulla integrates sensory information and input from higher brain centers, and afferent cardiovascular system inputs to adjust heart rate and blood pressure via sympathetic and parasympathetic efferent pathways. This article briefly reviews neural regulation of the heart, and its basic anatomy, the cardiac cycle, and the sinoatrial and atrioventricular pacemakers. Heart rate variability (HRV), the change in the time intervals between adjacent heartbeats, is an emergent property of interdependent regulatory systems that operate on different time scales to adapt to challenges and achieve optimal performance.
